Crona Wig Completed.

Image
This is the first wig that I've cut and styled and am totally 100% happy with.... It helps that Crona's hair is really unkempt and uneven... so my cutting job didn't have to be perfect.  But still, I REALLY like how this turned out.  I started with the Aphrodite wig in Dark Pink from Epic Cosplay... I also bought a pack of 15" extensions in the same color, Dark Pink. Click the pic to go to Epic Cosplay This wig was pretty much perfect.  All I really had to do was cut in the bangs/fringe and then sew in the long locks in the back using the extensions.   And here's finished pics... There will be some hairspray and stuff added when it's actual convention time...  also, these'll probably look better when I'm less beardy.

Sailor Moon: Sailor Neptune

Image
S ailor Moon   Sailor Neptune Completed August 2011 Items Made: Dress, Choker, Glove Cuffs. This and Sailor Uranus were my 2nd attempt at Sailor Suits and it's amazing how much I've improved since then.  But I'm absolutely in love with these!   The dress, collar, bows and choker were made, the glove tops were made and added to a store bought pair of gloves.  The shoes were purchased and painted and the ribbons added.  The tiara was purchased from Catzia's Collectibles and is beautiful and totally worth the money. PS. I bought the smooth gem tiaras and had the metal ring detail added around the stone.  It costs a little more but looks better if you ask me. I also bought the pendant Neptune wears on her choker which turned out to be craft foam and an acrylic gem... I thought it would be metal with a gem... but, oh well. Sailor Moon: Darien/Mamoru Original Concept

Image
S ailor Moon   Darien/Mamoru Original Concept Completed July 2006 Items Made:Jacket This is an original design for a costume to complement a Lolita/babydoll version of Serena (Usagi). It's made of white twill microsuede with light blue lining and piping.  Although in hindsight, I should have talked the cosplayer to choose white and lavender as the colors to allude to Darien/Mamoru's later evolution into King Endymion -- who wears a lavender tuxedo.

Sailor Moon: Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon Sailor Moon Created July 2006 Items Made: Dress, Cape, Gloves (not pictured). Looking back on this, I have to say that this wasn't a bad attempt, although, my next round of Sailor Suits came out much better.   Most importantly I knew that this particular costume was going to be worn by a girl with curves, so instead of using stretch fabric and a leotard pattern, I found a dress pattern with an empire waist, loose upper bodice, and a v-neckline.  The lower bodice has some seaming detail which I could have omitted, but I thought that it wasn't terribly distracting and would help with the silhouette and would address the needs of a curvy figure.  The cosplayer wanted the costume to be shiny so I used high sheen fabrics -- Windsor Satin for the Bodice, Skirt, and Collar. The Cape was requested by the client to reflect some early Sailor Moon drawings. It is made from Silver Foil Knit and Costume Satin and is reversible. ...

Naruto: Sexy Jutsuu Naruto

Image
Naruto Sexy no Jutsuu Version Created November 2007   Items Made: Jacket, Trousers. This costume is a modified version of Naruto's traditional outfit. Since we were doing Naruto's female persona, the cosplayer wanted to make the design ultra feminine. So we went with a more modern, feminine cut trouser and loose cropped jacket. Both the trousers and the jacket are made from stretch corduroy in slightly muted/darker colors. The stretch allows the costume to be ultra comfy while the corduroy gives it a nice softness.  The collar was knitted on a knitting machine then sewn into the jacket.  The patches were painted with glitter fabric paint -- again adding a touch of femininity to the costume.  Lastly, I added a couple of decorative frog buttons on the trousers for a bit of whimsy -- plus the also tie in to Naruto's summoning ability.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Riza Hawkeye

Image
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Riza Hawkeye Created November 2007 Items Made: Jacket, Trousers, Belt/Peplum. This was my first attempt at an FMA uniform and it was a great costume to make. See m y second attempt here. ( Maes Hughes ) The hardest part was ALL the trims and details. The trim had to be placed and then sewn down before the garment pieces were sewn together in order to h ide the stitches.  For fabric I used a nice gabardine fabric in navy. The fabric has a slight stretch which isn't necessary, but makes it much more comfy.  I also made the Trouser Flaps as a separate piece for ease of wear--having remade this costume for myself, the separate piece flap was a good idea. Sidenote:  This costume was made and the buyer reneged so now I have it in my possession.  If anyone is interested in purchasing it, let me know.  The costume is actually unisex so it could be worn for any FMA character.  The size is pretty short and boxy, but it ...

Fullmetal Alchemist: Maes Hughes

Image
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Maes Hughes   Completed Sept. 2010 Items Made: Jacket, Pants, Peplum.   I LOVE the way this turned out!!! I used the same navy gabardine I used for the earlier version of Riza. I just love the darker color and it comes out great in pictures -- not to bright, not to dark. I also used a silvery-gray upholstery piping for the trim. The peplum (or at least that's what I call the pant flap thing) is made as a separate piece. Lots of little details. Hand knotted shoulder cord, authentic replica collar medals and shoulder insignias. I added breast pockets on the jacket which come in super handy. Awards: Runner Up, All-Con Dallas Cosplay Contest 2011

Fullmetal Alchemist: Lust

Image
Fullmetal Alchemist Lust Completed Sept. 2010   Items Made: Dress This costume was awesome to make. We kind of deviated from the actual design in that we made the dress floor length with a slight train and there's a thigh high slit up the front of the leg (sexy). The dress itself is made from hunter green satin with a black chiffon overlay so the dress looks black with a green tint. Because if you look at a lot of the anime pics, the highlights are done with dark green. The gloves were store bought and the detail was burgundy cording hand sewn onto the glove s.  The tattoo purchased from an online vendor. If you want to see better pics, CLICK HERE .  One of the photographers nabbed some cool shots.  But they're his property so I won't post them here.
