Retro Sneakers

Image
So!!! Last weekend I was on my way up to Dallas to meet up with some friends.  I was already on the road when they called and said they were gonna be delayed an hour... Fortunately, I was just outside of Hillsboro. So the outlet mall seemed like an ideal place to kill some time.  Well, sadly the outlet mall there isn't what it used to be. But I did happen to be in the Nike outlet where I found these fantastic retro Nike sneakers and I bought them immediately.  I love the retro sneaker look, and I really like how they took a really fun color (something that is SERIOUSLY lacking in men's footwear) and used that color for this shoe.  This style is called Oceania and the color is Old Royal/White.  My pair also came with white laces, but since the blue laces are already in, I'll keep it like that.  They're part suede and part poly rayon something or another... i dunno how to describe it... and the white check is leather. Now I know people may have concern...

Sexy Cosplay done well

I was browsing through some cosplay pics on Deviantart and I came across this picture... These are the villains from the season 1 finale of Sailor Moon.  If you haven't seen it... all you need to know is that these five chicks and the five sailors took turns killing each other... But that's not the point.  The point is why I heart these coplays.  Aside from the creativity and the execution, you'll notice that the girls aren't body painted... rather they're wearing bodysuits.  I love how they used airbrushing on the fabric to enhance their bodies... even giving the illusion of cleavage without showing actual cleavage.... the two on the left look like they've painted in some musculature.   And the actual "costumes" (the super skimpy bikinis) look like their either being worn over or sewn onto the body suits. This is a really nice way to pull off a costume like this without being nearly naked. So yeah.  I just like this alot.

Once upon a time....

there was a costumer named Jason. During the fall primetime lineup one season, he started watching a little show based on fairy tale characters who've forgotten who they are. Yes. That is the plot line. Due to the evil queen's curse, all of the happily ever afters never happened and the characters are now living in modern times with no recollection of their past lives. The series cuts back and forth between the present and the fairy tale times -- filling us in on how the characters came to be the characters we love. I love this show. Not only is it well written, heart-warming, and engaging, it manages to do so without being trashy, raunchy or risque--making it an actual "family friendly" show. But let's get down to what I love the most about this show. The costumes. The costumes are fantastic!!! And what I really love is how the show has opted to portray all of the witches, and evil queens as glammed out hotties instead of shriveled haggy old women. I also like ...
